Homemade Sicilian Style Pizza


  • 2 + 2/3 cups high gluten flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dry Fleischmann’s instant yeast 
  • 11 oz. very warm water


  • Mix dry ingredients
  • Add water
  • Mix with edge attachment for 6 minutes (or by hand)
    NOTE: This is too wet to mix with a dough hook. 
  • About Halfway through, scrape the sides with a rubber spatula
  • After the dough is mixed, dust it with a little bit of flour
  • Use a rubber spatula to remove it from the mixing bowl
  • Spray a 12 x 8 baking dish with some cooking spray
  • Flatten the dough in the baking dish
  • With the oven off, let the dough proof (rise) in the oven for about 2 hours
  • Bake at 425 for 20 minutes
  • Remove the dough from the baking dish and flip it over
  • Add:
    • sauce (about 8oz)
    • some Italian seasoning
    • cheese (about 10oz)
  • Bake at 425 for 15 minutes
